Two scoops of instant powder, 8 to 10 oz of hot water, about 48mg of caffeine in the medium cup. That number is the anchor for a steadier morning habit built by Andrée Werner and Rashad Hossain, with shade grown arabica plus six mushrooms, MCT and fiber.

The powder dissolves fast and drinks smooth, which matters at 7 a.m. when there is no time for grinding or filters. RYZE started in Boston, Massachusetts in March 2020 as a direct to consumer label, run by what the founders describe as a small but mighty team of creatives, strategists, scientists and support staff.

The founders met at Harvard and leaned on coffee through long study days and late nights. The lift then drop left them wired, then flat and uneasy. Hossain later spent three years at Kraft Heinz marketing large coffee labels, and came away uncomfortable selling coffee that did not fit a steadier daily life.

This version looks at that same story as a routine. When to stir the cup, what to pair it with, where to keep the bag so you remember it, and how to read lot language on the label. We keep the chain they name, from farms in Mexico, California and Nevada to packing and shipment from Texas, and check what a buyer can confirm from testing for heavy metals and mycotoxins.

Your medium roast shows about 48mg of caffeine per cup, and your dark roast shows 80 to 90mg per serving, so plan morning use and stack it with food and water. Why leave some coffee in the mix rather than take caffeine out fully, and how do you read those label numbers when you time your daily cup.

Hi, we are Andrée and Rashad, and we are glad you stopped by. We never planned to start a label, we only wanted steadier mornings. At Harvard we used coffee to get through packed days and late study blocks, and slowly it turned into reliance. After the lift we felt drained, on edge and unsettled, then low as it faded. We understood we needed better so we built it.

After graduation I worked for three years at Kraft Heinz, marketing some of the largest coffee labels in the world. I watched the way coffee was pitched, and I grew uneasy about the after effects and about promoting products that did not fit a balanced lifestyle. So I left to create a gentler coffee for myself with functional foods. Cordyceps was the first fungus we tried, and the shift in our energy and focus surprised us. After that we brought in five more mushrooms for daily use, and when that mix tasted right, RYZE came to life.

You name shade grown organic arabica from Mexico that is roasted, brewed and spray dried into instant powder to keep in a visible spot by your kettle. Can you trace that coffee chain lot by lot, from harvest to dried powder, and note what shifts at each step for taste and routine use.

We hold onto the ritual yet we will not treat jitters, crashes and stomach trouble as normal. We prefer Cordyceps for energy over strong caffeine, and we prefer one plain morning habit over complicated wellness. A standard brewed mug often sits around 95mg or higher, so our medium at close to 48mg lands under half. That reduced figure is the whole idea. It helps people retain the flavor and rhythm they enjoy, in a gentler cup.

Our dark roast at 80 to 90mg per serving suits people who prefer deeper roast flavor with Cordyceps and Reishi included. We print the span on the page because instant powder, spoon fill and brew volume can alter the finished mug. Mix with 8 to 10 oz of hot water, whisk for froth, stir in nut milk or natural sweetener as preferred. That is the full habit. Feel a Little Better Every Day is more than wording for us. It is how we judge whether the caffeine amount is correct.

You grow certified organic mushrooms in California and Nevada, six of them including Cordyceps, lions mane and reishi for steady daily stacking. What growing method do you use, fruiting body or myceliated grain, and what do your extract ratio and standardised marker truly state for daily trust.

The coffee begins as shade grown organic arabica cultivated in Mexico. Shade grown signals growth beneath tree cover, which slows maturation and forms taste. Following harvest and origin processing, the green beans travel to us for roasting. Roast defines color and profile, medium for mellow, dark for strong. Next we brew, much like a concentrated batch, and spray dry that liquid into instant powder.

Spray drying converts brewed coffee into dry granules that melt in hot water. No grinder and no paper filter sit on your counter. Lot identity counts at this stage. Harvest batch, roast batch, brew batch, dried powder batch. We maintain that sequence so we know which powder entered which finished run. The powder is then combined with the mushroom components plus MCT and fiber. That mixture is what you combine with 8 to 10 oz of hot water. Easy in the kitchen, yet every phase carries a site, a date and a weight in the record.

You launched online in March 2020 as two Harvard undergrad friends who had lived on coffee through long days and late nights of study. What did those spikes and crashes feel like in a busy week, and what made you say you needed better so you made it yourself.

We work with six fungi, Cordyceps, lion’s mane, reishi, turkey tail, shiitake and king trumpet, raised as certified organic in California and Nevada. Certified organic in this context covers cultivation and handling under United States organic standards, with inspections and input logs. They are dehydrated after picking, then readied for mixing with the coffee powder. Remaining components are obtained in the US.

On pack we present the mushroom mix as foods for everyday wellness support instead of as medicine. What we can document at present is state of origin, organic status, drying and blending logs, and finished batch files. What we have not released by lot is whether each fungus is fruiting body alone or contains myceliated base, plus the extraction ratio or any calibrated marker such as beta glucan share. Those three points are what careful shoppers use to weigh mushroom formulas. To provide them we would have to release the spec sheet for each fungal input and link it to the lab certificate for each finished batch.

You report 219503 reviews at 4.8 out of 5 and more than 200000 five star reviews, and you ship from Texas while sourcing in the US. How do you keep lot identity intact from blending to the box that leaves the warehouse so your morning habit stays consistent.

Checks cover each blend. Inputs are screened for mycotoxins and heavy metals, the two hazards we track closest in coffee and dried fungi. Coffee can hold mold linked compounds when drying or storage falters. Fungi can absorb metals from growth base, water or air. So a portion from the lot is sent to an outside lab, meaning a facility apart from us and our vendors.

A certificate of analysis is the test sheet tied to that lot. It notes what was analyzed, the technique, the threshold, and the outcome. For heavy metals that commonly covers lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury beside a stated threshold. For mycotoxins that commonly covers aflatoxins and ochratoxin A beside a stated threshold. The sheet bears the lot or batch code, so you can pair the document with the powder in the pouch. We have not posted those sheets lot by lot, and the brief does not identify the labs. What would make it visible is a lot search where a shopper enters the code on pack and views the matching certificate.

A regular brewed cup is often near 95mg or more, so our medium roast at about 48mg is less than half and easier to take daily.

Your flagship Medium Roast blends coffee with a six mushroom blend plus MCT and fiber, while Dark Roast leans on Cordyceps and Reishi for a bolder cup to time with training. After more than a year of tinkering and taste tests, how did the two formulas diverge for flavor and for daily use.

There were plenty of late evenings, endless small changes, and more sampling rounds than we can count. We put our effort into growing community and meeting people who, like us, wanted something kinder for mind, body and daily life. After over a year of adjusting, testing and sipping we settled on six fungi plus premium organic coffee for the lead formula.

The medium roast is the everyday mug, mellow and organic, close to 48mg caffeine per cup, with the six fungus mix and MCT for smooth energy without the drop. The dark roast is organic instant dark roast with Cordyceps and Reishi, 80 to 90mg caffeine per serving, for stronger coffee character with fungal mix. Same prep, combine with 8 to 10 oz of hot water, whisk if foam sounds good. One offers range across six fungi, the other centers on two with heavier roast notes. Both protect a plain ritual.

You state ingredients are tested for mycotoxins and heavy metals before they ever join your morning routine blend. Who takes the sample, what lab runs it, and what does a certificate of analysis let a buyer verify about a single batch before use.

We went live online in March 2020 as a direct to consumer label, and what started as a private morning cup became a daily pattern for millions. We cultivate organic fungi in California and Nevada, obtain remaining inputs in the US, and dispatch from Texas. That triangle holds only when records move with the goods.

Day to day it looks like this. Every inbound input carries a lot code and a certificate. Mixing generates a fresh batch code that records which input lots entered and in what amounts. Fill weight is verified so each portion holds the planned share of coffee and fungal mix. The finished batch code is printed on pack, and the Texas site picks and sends by that code. Reviews show whether people reorder and whether the cup suits them. The batch log shows what sits in that cup. We have found that truly no one will grasp your label the way you do, and you will never learn until you test, so we refine the setup with every run.

You often say feel a little better every day and talk about a RYZE Revolution built on community and shared habits. What does that community ask you to prove next about provenance so the habit holds on a rushed Tuesday in February.

They wonder exactly where this is raised, and what confirms it. They scan the Supplement Facts box and the other ingredients row. They request the farm, the season, the drying approach, the extraction facts, the lab and the limit. We remain glad to trade notes with fellow founders and share guidance on growing a label through social channels plus online store tactics for e-commerce, yet our main duty is to respond to our own customers.

So the next evidence is plain and open. Release the fungus spec sheets, covering plant part and extraction ratio where relevant. Release a sample lab certificate showing heavy metals and mycotoxins with techniques and thresholds. Add a lot search so each pouch links to its sheet. Continue naming growers by state and coffee by country, then include harvest season when confirmed. We prefer building community and honest ties over simply selling coffee, and records form part of that confidence.

Closing note from the desk

For a habit that sticks, keep the anchor fixed. Same time, same mug, same 8 to 10 oz pour. Keep the bag by the kettle or in the gym bag, pair the medium cup with breakfast and save the dark cup for slow starts, and track taste and sleep for two weeks before you change anything. That steadiness is what lets a lower caffeine routine show its pattern.

What we will watch is paperwork by lot. Farm states and coffee country are named, roast and spray dry phases are logged, MCT and fiber are on the label, screening covers mycotoxins and heavy metals, dispatch runs through Texas. Talk with a doctor or pharmacist first if you take medication, are pregnant, nursing or manage a condition. The next useful move is a pack code that opens its own lab sheet.
