Today adidas x Rich Mnisi has just unveiled the second edition of Homeland, following the successful global launch of the first Collection earlier this year. The first drop took the world by storm, taking centre stage in adidas stores from London to Paris, New York to Dubai. Locally, the range has been proudly worn by the likes of Siya Kolisi, Ama Qamata, Shekhinah, Sarah Langa and Thickleeyonce.
The new Homeland Collection features a line-up of female-focused streetwear pieces that celebrate love, romance and beauty with a bright and energetic rose print. The Collection includes unique and beautiful pieces that reflect Mnisi’s influences and experiences.
The campaign is led by models Lindiwe Dim, Lisa Fumagalli and Noma Mokoni as they fuse sport style with an authentic African flavour that celebrates Mnisi’s Tsonga heritage, influenced by his family’s traditions.
Alongside the apparel pieces, the Collection features iconic adidas footwear including HER COURT, ASTIR and Adilette slides, which have been reimagined using Mnisi’s signature print. In keeping with the adidas strategic ambition that by 2025, 9 out of 10 adidas articles will be sustainable, the Rich Mnisi Homeland Collection is made in part with recycled materials.
Homeland is a symbol of returning oneself to the ancestral ground she rests on, the continent of our birth and the home of humanity. A place that celebrates the spirit of her children. Her roots are the source of life.
Hero pieces within the Homeland Collection include:
HER COURT Shoes priced at R1799: The pop rose print on the shoes pays homage to the beauty of romance. This shoe is made with high-performance recycled materials and features an upper made with 50% recycled content.
Dress priced at R1299: The bright colours are offset by sleek black plus 3-Stripes from shoulder to hem. The loose cut and soft cotton make it extra comfortable for everyday wear. By buying cotton products from adidas, you are supporting more sustainable cotton farming.
ASTIR Shoes priced at R1999: These women’s shoes are elevated to epic levels. An embroidered rose adds detail to the oversized eyelets for total fashion mastery. This shoe is made with high-performance recycled materials and features an upper made with 50% recycled content.
The adidas x Rich Mnisi collection will be available from 6May 2022 at adidas.co.za and select adidas stores with prices starting from R379. Follow the @adidasZA @rich_mnisi conversation on Instagram and use hashtag #adidasxRichMnisi.
